I've just returned from spending another wonderful summer vacation at home in New Brunswick, on Canada's east coast. My mom and I always do some sort of refresh on a room or two of her house when I'm home, and I also have talented friends who have done dynamite projects of their own. So from time to time I'll share these refreshes in "east-coast edition" posts.
Today is my mom's bathroom. We refreshed it a couple of years ago as described in this post.
And now with just a can of paint and a new shower curtain, we created a completely different feel by turning to a plum palette.
Amazing what $40 bucks can do, isn't it?
East Coast homes are typically old, modest, boast intricate trim and woodwork, use lots of white, and include natural materials and stuff brought in from the outdoors. Rocks, shells, and wild flowers complete the decorating in this room - all for free.
Stay tuned for more East Coast refresh editions. And if you missed it, check out my friend Andrea's maritime-blue antique desk makeover here.
