This year is the year for mixing metals in your home, and what better time to be inspired than during the Olympics? The past few days I've posted some great photos using bronze, silver and gold separately. Now, here are some ideas for making them work together. Very modern, don't you think? OK, go mix it up.

I honestly think it works better in the more traditional interiors...I may be reading too much into it, but to me is says decorated with confidence.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree Nicole. This is a combo that you must do with intention and thoughtfulness. I think it would be hard to master, but in small doses like in some of these pics, I could definitely see it working.
I love mixing materials! Like oil rubbed bronze with polished chrome. And silvers with golds. Rustic woods with polished marble. It's a careful balance and cool juxtaposition at the same time. Love these photos, Kelly!
ReplyDeleteMixing metals is such a great look. The combination of warm gold or brass with cool silver is perfect! I'm putting together a metallic blog post for Monday - some people go a little overboard with the metallic thing, but when it's done right with a bit of restraint, it's so pretty & elegant :-)
